Jon Teems’ interest in motorcycle road racing was sparked while attending motorcycle mechanic courses at Wyotech in 2008. His first experience working with a race team came when he was chosen by Team Hammer to be an apprentice crew member for Team M4 Suzuki in the 2009 Daytona 200 effort.
His knowledge and work ethic got the team’s attention, and Teems was hired as a fly-in mechanic for the Contract Services Department, assigned to assist Tim Anderson on Team Roadracingworld.com Suzuki.
