Grant Lopez’s Valvoline EMGO Suzuki Formula Xtreme GSX-R1000 registered the highest top speed on radar during multi-team tests at Road Atlanta April 10, reaching 168 mph. The next-highest top speed recorded on radar during the tests was between 165 and 166 mph.
Lopez rode his Formula USA GSX-R750 and his Formula Xtreme GSX-R1000 during the test day. Teammate Ben Spies rode his Formula USA GSX-R750. The pair were joined at the test by Chris Ulrich, who rode a Formula USA GSX-R750 and sat in for Team Valvoline EMGO Suzuki’s John Hopkins, who is still recovering from a broken collarbone suffered during the AMA 600cc Supersport race at Daytona.
The tests continue on Wednesday, April 11 and Thursday, April 12.
