Team Valvoline EMGO Suzuki’s Grant Lopez crashed and separated his right shoulder after turning lap times underneath the official Formula Xtreme lap record at Road Atlanta.
Lopez fell during the first official practice for the Formula Xtreme class Friday morning, soon after turning a lap at 1:25.4. The official class lap record is 1:25.601.
Lopez crashed in turn 12 at Road Atlanta and slid into Air Fence Modules positioned in front of a concrete wall.
Details on Lopez’s condition, recovery and expected plans to return to competition will be posted as they become available.
