Team Valvoline EMGO Suzuki’s Josh Hayes finished 5th with teammate Marty Craggill 6th while the team’s Tom Kipp DNF with a broken crankshaft.
Craggill’s race was hampered by tire choice, when the front tire he selected started to push after seven laps. Hayes passed Craggill late in the event, using a more conventional front tire choice.
Kipp didn’t even finish the warm-up lap, pulling off with a broken crankshaft, a first for the team with this year’s big-bore engines.
The team next races at Virginia International Raceway in two weeks, in the AMA season finale.
