SCHOOL

PRO PRACTICE

Should I take the School?

YES! You can always learn something at a Team Hammer Advanced Riding School regardless of your experience level–thanks to our instructors’ intimate knowledge of motorcycle riding, racing, and the infield course at Daytona International Speedway. That’s why we have separate on-track school sessions for licensed racers as well as for non-racers. Instead of signing up for School sessions, licensed racers can sign up for a Team Hammer Pro Practice session, which does not include any instruction.

If I take the school on Thursday can I race with CCS during the same weekend at Daytona?

YES! Graduation from the Team Hammer Advanced Riding School qualifies you for an Amateur racing license with CCS. Just take your Team Hammer graduation certificate to CCS registration on Saturday morning, get your license and enter races. CCS can provide you with more information at www.ccsracing.us.

Is electric power available to run tire warmers in the paddock?

Yes, but parking near electricity is limited. So you may want to bring your own generator.

Can I rent a garage space in the paddock?

Yes. Contact CCS at www.ccsracing.us.

Is camping available at the track?

Yes, but not inside the paddock. Contact Daytona International Speedway at 1-800-pitshop for more information.

Are there showers at the track?

Yes.

Is there a hazardous chemical/engine oil dump station in the paddock?

Yes.

Can my spouse/family/friends/co-workers come help me or watch me while I take the school?

Yes, but every person who enters Daytona International Speedway will need a paid credential and every person needs to sign waivers at the registration building in person to get their credential. Parents of minors will be required to fill out additional forms to get credentials for children. There should be a line at the registration building that is dedicated to only selling credentials to get in the gate. Your guests will have the same credential that you have, but minors who are not Team Hammer school students or racers, and people wearing sleeveless shirts or open-toed shoes, are not allowed on pit lane.

Can I check in at registration on Wednesday afternoon to save time on Friday morning?

Yes, and we highly recommend students do this. It will make your life much easier on the morning of the school. We hold registration from noon to about 5:00 p.m. local time on Wednesday. Credentialed participants and guests can roll into the track through Gate 70 beginning at 12:00 p.m Wednesday and again at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, which is the same time that registration opens back up on Thursday morning.

Is there a place where I can park my trailer overnight?

Yes, you can park your trailer in the designated area in the paddock on Thursday after you have checked in at registration.

Will there be tire vendors in the paddock?
Yes, Dunlop and Pirelli are usually present and ready to take care of all of your tire needs, and Michelin and other tire companies may also be set up in the paddock.

Can I buy race fuel at the track?

Yes, but if you want to use anything other than Sunoco you may want to make arrangements with your race fuel supplier in advance. Unless your bike requires race fuel, we don’t recommend using it during our school because it’s an unnecessary expense, and highly oxygenated or leaded racing fuel could damage a street motorcycle, especially if it is fitted with a catalytic converter.

Can I have video cameras on my bike during the school?

Yes, but any camera must be mounted securely and safely with a sturdy tether. If there’s any doubt, we will err on the side of safety. No helmet-mounted cameras are allowed.

Will there be photographers at the track taking action photos to sell to riders?

Yes, Brian J. Nelson will be on hand to shoot photos. Forms will be available in the classroom. For more information, email brianjnelson@mac.com .

Can I stick around the rest of the weekend after the school just to spectate and check out the ASRA and CCS races?

Yes, every Team Hammer Advanced Riding School tuition includes a full-weekend credential with paddock and pit lane access. Pro Practice does not include a weekend credential.

Can I walk up to registration and sign up for the school on Friday morning?

Yes, but we strongly recommend pre-entering for the event. We accommodate pre-entered students first on the morning of the school and doing a post-entry sign-up takes time (and costs more), so you may end up missing a classroom or on-track session.

T-SHIRTS
Team Hammer Advanced Riding School students will receive a free event T-shirt at the track. Limit one free t-shirt per student. (Free T-shirt is for students only; offer does not include Pro Practice participants.)

Additional event T-shirts may be purchased for $20 each at the track. Or you may order by phone for $20 each plus shipping. Please call 951-245-6414 to order, Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (California).
